GNU General Public LicenseIn 1984, I read a small three paragraph sidebar in the magazine Computer Language about a person named Richard Stallman and his project called the Free Software Foundation. I thought it was a great idea, but I did not hold out much hope of it amounting to anything. I seriously under-estimated the strength of Stallman's drive and the appeal of his concept. Thank you Richard.Programming is not only my living, but my most serious hobby. These days, all of my work is published under the GPL. I encourage every programmer of substance to contribute at least one work under the GPL. Please use the menu to the left to select specific areas of interest related to the Free Software Foundation, unless you came here to specifically read the GNU General Public License. |
